Garmin Edge 530 and Elite Turbo Roteo Smart B+ trainer - incorrect (too high) power data

Hi All,

I have an issue concerning incorrect (too high) power data display from trainer to bike computer.

My trainer is: Elite Turbo Roteo Smart B+ with Misuro sensor.

My bike computer is: Garmin Edge 530

I connect trainer to bike computer using 2 sensors: 1. Cadence/Speed (with manual wheel circumference setting) and 2. Power (both come from trainer sensor)

I have tested 3 use cases using similar sample conditions (spd. 17km/h, cad. 70, HR: 120) and I kept getting the following power output readings:

Case 1: trainer with myEtraining software:

Power: +/-100W

Case 2: trainer with Garmin Edge 530:

Power: +/-425W

Case 3: trainer with Garmin V3 dual-side power meter:

Power: +/-100 W

(presenting data to Garmin Edge 530 to cross-check if trainer power output values are comparable)

What I can see from the exercise is that:

  1. the trainer is calibrated correctly as the sensor is giving power output comparable with power metered pedals
  2. the trainer is capable of sending correct power output as it shows correct value in myEtraining app
  3. Speed, Cadence and HR values are accurate (comparable) across all 3 scenarios and they are presented consistently in both myEtraining app and Garmin Edge 530 device
  4. there appears to be some data glitch between Elite and Garmin causing power to be more than 4 times too high (unless I have done sth incorrectly)

If anyone else had similar issue, I appreciate help and guidance on how to get it fixed pls.

I am going to report the issue to both Elite ad Garmin. I will update the forum in case I get to hear from them on any viable solution.

Many thanks.
