Software update 7.0

Hi, how does one update the software for the Edge 530?

I've tried via both Garmin Connect and Garmin Express and it says that my Edge is up to date (software version 6.20).

do a manual update yourself - get the fw file here and install it manually - forums.garmin.com/.../new-edge-530-version-7-00-now-available

I'm not sure, but is there APAC version of Edge 530? Normally on other Garmin devices, SW updates to APAC versions come several weeks later

no idea man....maybe you'll have to contact Garmin. i thought Firmware is Firmware.....how can region determine a firmware - maybe you've mistaken it for the map??

Maybe Kurev is right, I do have the Edge 530 Asia version.

Guess I'll just have to wait.

I know for sure many (or most?) watches have APAC SW versions, which are not compatible with each other. I don't know exactly what are the differences really. At least I have seen that some APAC version support chinese BeiDou positioning system.

Looking at Garmin SDK, there are two part numbers for Edge 530, with different SW versions.

Based on supported languages, 006-B3121-00 seems to be European, and 006-B3349-00 APAC. But I don't know if there is a way to check this part number on the device itself

Do not upgrade to the new software as my 530 no longer works with the new software. The start button just brings up a menu and the lap button will only go back. So I have a $300.00 piece of junk and will have to look at wahoo.
