Went for my first ride after the update yesterday. Navigation froze three times during my 100 km ride. Each time it recovered after 5 minutes automatically, but I had to follow the map to see the course as directions were not updated.
I noticed using mine with 7.00 when navigating it was doing weird things as well. It wasn't refreshing properly when going off course, I would have to hit the back button to dismiss the off course notice to get it to start updating again. And the navigation stopped working at one point, I had to cycle the power to get it to work again.
My 2 cents recommendation is to have the recalculation disabled. Otherwise you'll be 10000% confused - as the unit will remove your route and implement it's own routing towards your destination.
Rode a 90km route on the weekend - I had downloaded the route from the ride leader. Knowing him from previous rides - he likes to improvise the route. I had set mine to recalculation disabled and Off course warning not to appear. So when we went off the route the edge did nothing unexpected - and when we returned to the route the Edge picked it up and we continued along the planned route to the destination. Nice.
In comparison, my first ride with the same ride leader many months ago totally destroyed my Edge's routing (at that time it was the Edge 520 Plus) - when he diverted the edge eventually rerouted and gave me a new route 10km longer even when i was only 3 km away from the destination. If i had followed it faithfully i would have been devastated - i was tired and cramping. I had recalculation enabled in the settings. The unit deleted my routing and made another spurious routing - leading to the destination - but took the long way home.
