Edge 530 odometer

Hi,

I've spent most of my evening trying to "upgrade" from my Edge 520 to Edge 530 while trying to keep the odometer / totals.

The website that converts totals.fit is not working for me and unfortunately my experience with a hex editor are limited.

I've attached my totals.fit from the edge 530 if someone is kind enough to know how to edit it and it's not too much hassle.

While setting it up it imported some data from my watch, a bummer that it didn't give me the option from which device it should copy the totals from.

Under Mountain Bike data should be:

Rides 385

Time 395:03:49

Distance 5070 km

Calories 228619

If other files are necessary please let me know.

Thank you in advance, hopefully I can ride tomorrow since today I've spent all my riding time trying to figure out this basic step.

Have you tried copying the Totals.fit file from the 520 into the NewFiles folder on the 530?

I have edited the totals file with the numbers you provided. Hopefully you should see the numbers you want if you replace the existing file with this one. Rename it to totals.fit before…

Totals-fixed-fixed.zipSorry, that was my fault! I missed that I should have converted km to miles for the editor I was using. I have tweaked the file again so the distance should now be correct.

Yes, I've copied the totals.fit and records.fit from the edge 520 yet nothing changes in the 530 history. After reboot they're not located in the NewFolder either, somehow they're imported / ignored.

Forgot to mention that upon 530 setup it asked me to import previous data yet it didn't give me a choice from which device ( both watch 6x pro and edge 520 connected at the time). Imported totals / history in the 530 now reflect the data from the watch.

I'm kind of a data geek and if I'm not able to resolve this task I'll just return the 530.

Thank you, Wongataa! I've placed the file in the newFolder and it imported successfully all data with the exception of the Distance, which is 8159 km instead of 5070... I have it set to metrics. I wonder if that has anything to do with it? My fault since I haven't mentioned it.

Absolutely fantastic! Thank you, Wongataa! Just came back from a ride with the fixed totals, and new data reflects correctly! You made a Garmin user very happy !

I saw your post. I want to reset my odometer in Garmin Connect too. How did you alter the totals.fit file? Thanks.

If you attach a zipped copy of the fit file to a post and say what numbers you want in it I can edit the fit file and put your numbers in it.
