Edge 530 keeps on activating while inactive

Hi Guys. I have a garnim 530 edge and it has been functioning well but for some or other reason the edge keeps on going on ride or picking up rides while i am going through my menu tabs.

What must i do. I stop my original ride and save it. When i what to see my summary of the ride and right in the middle of my study the garmin activates again on a ride with speed/km/ showing as if i am ride at that moment. How can i stop this while my garmin is on.  Even changing setting on the garmin and with normal work this happens. So i must constantly stop the ride and discard it while i am checking things on the garmin.

Could someone help

    You probably have automatic ride start detection enabled, it thinks you are moving and starts activity. Disabling it should help.

    This. Or set a higher threshold speed for auto start.

    Activity Profiles> [Profile Name]> Timer Start Mode>

    Hi Jacques did you solve this problem as I am getting the same thing, if i increase the threshold speed for auto start it turns off when im on a steep hill and not achieving the speed.

    I think you may referring to auto-pause vs auto-start.  I don't use this feature so I may not fully understand it, but auto pause will pause your activity if you go below the threshold and then restart when above it.  This sounds to me like what you are experiencing.  Auto-start is for when the device is not currently logging an activity but will then auto-start one if it senses it is moving above a preset threshold.  This is a feature to start the activity log automatically in case the user forgot to manually do it at the beginning of a ride.
