Edge 530 6.20 sensor drop

Having issues since switching from wahoo to Garmin (Edge 530) and I have had issues with sensor drop on my wahoo cadence/speed sensor.  I have tried both BLE and ANT+ with no luck.  I end up turning the sensor off because without the speed sensor, navigation will stop.  Apparently version 6.0 fixed sensor drop, 6.2 it is certainly alive and kicking with me.

Ay suggestions?  I have checked connections, replaced batteries to no avail.  I use the same sensor on other devices with no issues at all.  When I had a bolt, no issues ever, with same sensors connected.

  • Here we go again, many other threads with similar issues. Could be interference, could be the ant/ble chip on the 530/830, could be the device you're connecting, could be the phase of the moon, could be the butterfly effect from when you decided to have chocolate ice-cream when you were 7 rather than choosing vanilla.

Many people report no issues with a 520 or using Wahoo (or maybe just different issues :P ), but plenty on the 530 specific hardware (I check the 830 forums occasionally and there seems to be some mention there also).

I've had on-again/off-again problems with a power meter (from which I also get cadence) ever since I got this bike and a 530 back in May of this year, and cant find anything logical to attribute it to. Dropouts for me last anywhere up to ~15 minutes, not in consistent locations, and by myself and in groups (so not interference IMO), do not occur at a certain battery level, nor occur less/more often if i do or dont calibrate. I will say that things have been more reliable of late on 6.2 (but not 100% reliable) and I suspect its just a software/hardware bug I'm hitting.

  • A few days ago I switched back to wahoo.
And ... 0, zero, null, none problems with disconnects, disappearing sensors.

What I can tell ... Wahoo just do its job.

I know, I know. Wahoo has less „features”, but ... it just works. Works outside, inside, with power meter on my MTB bike, road bike, with power trainer.

Also I have no any problems with loosing resistance in ERG mode.

Wahoo works even with garmin varia radar.

My patience is over. Bye bye Garmin. If you guys want to hold on your customers you HAVE TO do better software? hardware?.
I dont know where the problem is. But I am (was) one of your customer and I don't care.

I bought your product that simple failed me.
