Installation Instructions

  1. Connect your Edge 530 device to your computer using the micro-USB cable.
  2. Download and unzip Edge530_622Beta.zip and place the GUPDATE.gcd file in the \Garmin folder of your device's internal storage drive.
  3. Disconnect your device from the computer, approve the update on the Edge, and wait for the update to finish.
  4. If you would like to revert to the last public release software, follow the above steps but place the GUPDATE_620.GCD file in the \Garmin folder. Rename the file to GUPDATE.GCD before disconnecting your device.
NOTE: If you revert to an older version of software, all of your settings will be reset to defaults.
  • Can't be sure if it is related solely to the beta: last night's ride accumulated height as it should but the altimeter itself was out of calibration.
When I was ~100m above sea level I was looking on it and it was ~-60m...

  • disable and enable tones in global settings. I had the same problem. Afterwards it worked.

  • Fixed issues with grade, power, and resistance controls for smart trainers.

Hello - can you please elaborate on the above?

Also - i noticed that for the indoor bike profile, one can set the bike weight and gear ratio. What effect will have this when following a course? As most of the parts for a proper simulation when using loaded courses have been implemented - is it possible to add CdA as a parameter - to mimic TT / normal road bike speed and more important - to proper simulate downhill speed too?

    Thanks,

    Tudor

  • Does anyone know what "Added device driven Livetrack" is?

  • It means that there is now a UI option on the Edge to start Livetrack rather than requiring you to get your phone out and open up GCM to manually start a Livetrack session. This assumes you don't have Livetrack configured to auto-start on the phone.
