I lost my phone while trail riding, not my garmin.
I have the garmin app installed on the lost phone and the phone was connected to it while I was riding.
Is there a way to locate where the phone lost connection with my garmin?

I assume your phone's battery is dead by now, so I guess this is more of a theoretical answer. You can try to go around with your Garmin and see when it connects. Garmin watches definitely have a "find my phone" function, but I don't think the Edge devices do.
However as a phone has usually GPS and data connection, it's a lot more useful to try to find it with the https://www.google.com/android/find site if it was an Android. It can show where it is and ring the phone as well. If you don't have data connection then you can still ring it with another phone. But yeah, otherwise your best bet is just to try to see when your Garmin connects to it.
