loading course takes minutes not seconds

Hi all,

Based on the review from dcrainmaker I expected loading a course to take only seconds. Now I'm surprised to see that loading a medium course of e.g. 60-80km takes at least 2-3 minutes?! Is this normal?

There is nothing special with the courses I tried. I created them with Garmin Connect and synced them using the mobile app. When selecting the courses and press 'ride' its starts calculating - but until I get 100% loaded and the routing starts, its takes couple of minutes. I have fw version 6.0 and now updated to 6.2 but still the same isse.

Is something wrong with my device or is this normal? Thanks

that's also my experience, but it depends on how complex the routing is.

I live in Flanders, Belgium, with a very dense road network and calculating a full route does take 1-2 minutes

This summer I was in La Lorraine, France and then routes calculated much faster

"Only seconds" isn't a reasonable expectation. Simpler routes in places with fewer alternative roads will calculate faster. Note that you can start riding before the unit finishes (which is a reasonable option if you don't need turn instructions right away).
