Altitude issues in 530 and 830

Hello:

The garmin edge 530 and 830 present an altitude value on the screen, but when you switch it to connect, the altitude value recorded on the track differs a few meters.

Additionally, when you go downhill, the altitude recording is done with a certain delay, recording altitude data that corresponds to the previous seconds in which the correct altitude has been recorded.

Software version 6.00

Regards,

  • 6.2 was just out to fix altitude issues.

Try it out to see if it resolves yours as well.

  • Hello:

The altitude problems remain exactly the same as in version 6.00, it marks a different altitude on the screen than the one recorded on the track. Additionally, it records altitude drops with a 10-15 second delay.

To top it off, I think the accuracy of the gps has worsened, since on the descents with sharp curves it goes off line.

    Disaster...
  • For me, most, if not all altitude issues are resolved.

  • Urggghhhhhh my elevation data was fine before 6.20. Now it seems the elevation slowly corrects after about 30 minutes. If I set elevation before the activity, the elevations start to drift and then abruptly corrects to the proper elevation after about 30 minutes. Any ideas?
