Time Ahead data field not behaving correctly with paused time

Hi - when doing an Training Against Previous Activity, the Time Ahead data field doesn't correctly take into account paused time from the activity you're racing against.

Example: Both the recorded ride and your current setting is to pause time when stopped. If you're racing against a previous activity and racing at exact same speed, time ahead will show 0sec. If you on the recorded ride stopped for 1min, and then on your new ride also stop for 1min at the same place, then when you start cycling again, it will show as if you're 1min ahead, Effectively, it's pausing your current time when stopped as expected, but it's comparing that time against a previous ride where the stopped time is seen as not paused but just no moving, i.e. the reference time keeps running.

The Distance Ahead data field doesn't have this issue, that works as expected, showing that Garmin did consider the logic of how paused time should work, but only when measuring distance, but not time.

  • Resurfacing this one as it's driving me nuts - "Time Ahead" should be a much more useful way to compare against a previous activity when "Training Against", but in reality it's much usable due to the above. Could it please be fixed to work with same logic as "Distance Ahead"?
