Komoot App // Change destination / Track

Hello,

recently i was cycling with my Edge 530 and had multiple times, where i wanted to change the destination / komoot-track towards i was navigating.

I did not manage it to change the route during a ongoing navigation/recording.

I had to stop, and safe it.

Then choose the new track through komoot iq app (before it was locked due to a ongoing recording)

Then i had to start a completely new recording

So i did not manage to have just one activity.

Is there something i dont know or different possibilites?
It will always happen, that someone changes the destination / route and does not want to stop and start a completely new activity.

    Did you ever find a workaround ? Wahoo have that taken caren of by allowing the app to send a new route directly to the device. I suppose that on the 530 you're covered by the fact that there is auto-reroute so as long as your final destination stays the same you're ok...

    sadly iq apps do not work when an activity is running. as you stated you have to save the activity and than get the new file from iq app. if the file as been downloaded before the activity has started you can load it normaly.

    with the activity started you can only use the map to navigate to a place

    Thanks, I was looking into the "new" (from last year) syncing from Komoot without the need for the app and wondering if that would help here ? Chances are syncing would be off when an activity has been started though.

    It sounds that you can still load a previously downloaded route without exiting the activity though ? That could help if you've planned alternatives ahead of time.

    Hey Man,

    sadly not.

    In my special case its like:

    1. Cycling to a region place by just planning to somewhere in the region

    2. As soon as you are in the near, you can auto-reroute to a place you now discovered you want to go (e.g. a specific restaurant or something)

    Just having the possiblility to change the destination in a flexible way, during recording is always on

    But also POI is not possible with the 530

    So yes I tried syncing while an activity is ongoing (even paused) and it just doesn't work. I stopped the activity and then I was able to initiate a sync and get the new route I had put in Komoot.
    That's something the Wahoo Bolt does better as you can send any track you want from the App while the activity is ongoing without having to stop it.
    Also I noticed that once you delete a Komoot course on the 530 it will not sync again automatically, but you can still get it back by using the ConnectIQ app.
