Edge 530 Frequently Losing Satellites since upgrade to Firmware v6.0

Hello

I'm seeing an issue with my Edge 530 frequently losing satellites since the firmware v6.0 upgrade. Everthing was find with the previous firmware so I'm hoping that this isn't an issue with the new version.

I've had a search through and based on what I've found I have set the GPS mode to 'GPS' for my 'Road' activity.

Anyone seen this issue or have any other suggestions?

What GPS firmware are you on? That should have updated at the same time as the firmware went to 6.

GPS version is 4.50

For anyone who reading this thread that doesn't know where to find the GPS version try the following:

Menu > Settings > System > About > Copyright Info

Do a factory reset, it usually helps !

Thanks for the pointer .. I was hoping to avoid a factory reset but have done so today. Should be back on the bike across the weekend so will see if that has helped.

strange, mine upgraded today to 6.0 and it says 2.90 with an !

Mine 830 was like that too when I went to 6.0. I then then plugged it back into my computer and ran Garmin Express again and it updated the GPS firmware.

Ya..I just upgraded to 6.0 and have 2.90 GPS Firmware..any ideas. I was at 4.50 Firmware on GPS?

So how do you upgrade the GPS Firmware

The same way you upgrade any firmware. Plug in into a computer running Garmin Express.

I have been off the bike for a while with an ankle injury and don’t expect to be back for another month but I thought I’d get my 530 updated.
mine upgraded to v6 after a while but the gps is 2.90(!).
I've seen the suggestion to run Garmin Express on a computer but I run Garmin Connect on my phone. I have run the update countless times but it does not update the GPS firmware.
Any ideas?

**UPDATE**
Never mind. Talked with Garmin and they said if it’s not updating then it must be done through Garmin Express. I did that and it updated. It also said I had a huge map update. I guess that only happens through Express.
