Can anybody explain me the process of updating Garmin maps?
It is clear that updates are outdated. Who is responsible for updating the maps, and how do they get triggered to update?
Did anybody already had an idea to add realtime info by users on the road ( via an extension in the iq store?)
This weekend i updated my maps, and did an offroad ride.
The ride was calculated by my device via the mtb profile. So i was in the assumption that Garmin is clever enough to know i'm riding and not walking.
In the middle of the ride there was a road block. Clearly not a temporary one because there was a barrier.(danger: falling rocks; meaning: also forbidden for hikers)
If i could indicate the road block when riding, then
A. The device can calculate an alternative route
B. Next users are warned when there map is updated with my road block info.
C. People of Garmin are warned to update their maps.
I don't understand that such an expensive device does not have this funtionality by default
