Hallo

Is possible somehow send route to garmin edge 530?

I need option that can i search destination on phone and best route option and then send this rout to my garmin to navigate it.

I have  found on - app garmin connect that can i send route to garmin...but there is problem that there is no option to write the name of the destination...and must looking whole mapp and zooming and manual found destination to drop the pin.

Thanx

  • But what are you talking about? GRouteLoader? Perhaps you have the latest firmware version in your 1030 and it is stable without unexpected restarts?

Use the website cycle.travel rather than google maps then you can send to your garmin app and upload to the device.

  • Thanks..  This is on Android.   I tried GRouteLoader and GImporter.  I only need to transfer while riding.   Anything better about your app?

  • I tested out Cycle.travel.    Pretty cool site.  I can use it on my mobile device.   Route to an address or POI.   Then select Download for GPS and download GPX.    Then use Gexporter (phone) and Gimporter Widget on my device to import the route.  Seems to work fairly well.

Pretty lame that this isn't easier to do.   For anyone from Garmin listening..     We want to find a route to somewhere using google maps and import it into our GPS on the road without stopping a ride.    Shouldn't be this hard!!

If on cycle.travel you set up an account and connect your Garmin connect account you can hit the gps button rather than the save button in cycle.travel under the "route tools" and send it to Garmin connect. Then open your garmin connect app and the route is there ready to send to device. You dont need to save and import a GPX file

  • You can use my GRouteLoader widget to load course files from the GExporter Android app while you are recording a ride.

  • Gimporter has a widget too

  • If I do it this way (just send it to Garmin Connect) then can't add a route during a ride.  This would work well prior to riding though.  Using the save the GPX option and Gexport/Gimport widget, then I can upload a route while I'm riding, without starting a new ride.

  • The widget versions will let you download course files when recording a ride. The app versions will not.
