Does anyone have any insight into the formula used in the FTP autocalculation. I know that it's NOT 20 minute power x 0.95 as my FTP increased yesterday in a workout, and at no point did I do a 20 minute sustained level. I also checked my max average power in Garmin Connect after the ride, and my 20 minute max average was lower than the new FTP set.
I know that there are other, possibly more modern ways to estimate FTP, XERT use a different measure and I think that sufferfest do too, but the Garmin User Manual seems to be behind the reality of the device in this regard.
Anyone clever out there that knows more?
