Auto Upload when all wireless is off?

I finished a ride on the weekend and the Bluetooth connection to my phone was disabled and the WiFi connection was also disabled on my Edge 530 yet the ride was uploaded to Strava and Garmin Connect?

How can this be. The device was also asleep at the time my phone notified me.

I assume that it still managed to connect to my WiFi as before I attached it to the WiFi a couple of months back I only ever used blue tooth and never experienced this issue.

Just to give some info I had connected to my WiFi at home in the past but this option was definately disabled on the Edge. Have I missed something in the manual where this is normal behaviour??

Are you using a speed sensor on the bike? I know that the newer ones can provide ride data to GC app.

No, I am using a gym bike with a power meter! Same thing has happened yesterday..

Dang, I thought I was on to it. Still though, does that power meter have its own connection to your GC app? Possibly passing data to GC despite your Edge being in airplane mode? Does the uploaded activity include a GPS track or is it just time and distance?
