"Download Failed" over Wifi - Not fixed with Factory Reset

Hi

My Garmin 530 has worked fine for about a year. It has now started refusing to download courses over wifi. it does still upload rides though.

Wired by USB it works fine.

No ConnectIQ apps installed.

I've removed it from my account, factory reset, etc. set up from clean except used old settings files to get my activity profiles set up. Re linked to phone and wifi.

The problem persists.

This is quite frustrating. Flawless wifi downloading for a year then for no obvious reason (like a firmware update) it stops working.

Any ideas? Account problem?

Thanks

  • Same for me, and on my Forerunner 935 as well, so probably server issues. Garmin, get your act together!

  • Me too.

Had to reinstall the Komoot IQ App today to get a course for the ride home to my 530.

Before it sync'ed via Garmin Connect, via WiFi or BT from the GC Mobile App. Not anymore now.

  • Just to add to my original post. Everything seems fine wired to USB or over Bluetooth.

However, the last synced time on the connect webpage is not correct. It shows a few days ago even after a successful sync by USB.

    Something isn't right...

Furthermore, today's ride wouldn't upload via WiFi either.

    Frustrating

I have the same issue. When I create a course on Garmin Connect and click Send to device via WiFi.....when I power on my Garmin Edge 1030 it tries to download the new course....but comes up Download Failed. It used to work fine....... Running Software version 9.50. Wonder what the hell is going on. Please help.

  • Uploading as been working again. That could have been a one off.

I sent an email to Garmin support on Monday. No reply yet.

  • Downloaded successfully over WiFi this evening. Made no changes. No reply from Garmin thus far.

I'm pleased it seems to be working again as the Wifi route is the most convienient way of getting data in and out of the Edge. This and battery life are my favourite updates in the current devices.

Yip. Mine also started working again...... I spoke with Garmin at length about the issue....... 2 hours later it was fine????

  • It seems it was a server side issue, as I had it with my 945 as well.

They heard the scream and fixed it...
