Back to start calculation error

Since last update (v5.50) my edge 530 does not allow me to use the back to start feature. No matter on which profile or map i'm using or if I ask ask for the most direct route or the same route back, when I hit back to start, it shows "calculation error". I reinstall garmin and custom maps and still not working.

The weird thing is that navigating to a map point or to a saved location works properly.

Any ideas?

Last night I walked some hundred meters off from home, then asked for back to start It surprisingly worked but It seems that if you've being ridin gfor a longer time, there is something preventing the option to work. However, the option to navigate to a saved point at the start works perfectly.

Yeah I find that anything over about 1km and the return to start doesn’t work. All other navigation works fine though which is why it’s so strange.

I have the same problem on my Edge 830, now on software 6.0

I just did a factory reset on my device and now it’s working perfectly. I backed up my user settings as per this article https://support.garmin.com/en-MY/?faq=eWswdSH4aC3xrXxmQj7U9A

some of the settings didn’t go back to how they were so I think there was possibly some corruption in one or more of the files.
