Does anyone use the post-ride Recovery Time reports from the 530 to guide training?

I've seen some 2 yr old posts here re this. Most did not believe the Recovery Time numbers reported after a ride (they believed the recovery time was far too long).

I'm wondering if things have improved in the past couple of years with the Recovery Time calculation software.

Does anyone follow/believe the times suggested?

  • I am tempted also not to take them too seriously and on many occassions I have thought they are nonsense.  On the other hand, there have been times when I have been doing a lot of training and found that my VO2 wasn't improving. Taking a day or two off has helped enormously. So perhaps this is an case where 'listen to your body' isn't always as accurate as you think. 

    It may be related to age, however. I am 51 so perhaps I am in more need of recovery that a 20 year old!  I don't know how much FirstBeats takes that into account thought.
