My Garmin edge 530 keeps freezing.

Hello, I have recently brought an garmin edge 530. I’ve had trouble with it keep freezing. Every ride I’ve done (5 rides with the garmin recording) and it’s frozen every time. The time before last I managed to save it to Garmin Connect before it froze and I had to turn itself off. Today I went to save my ride and it froze before I even managed to save it to Garmin Connect before I had to turn it off. That means my ride was deleted. This shouldn’t be happening should it. How do I stop it freezing and deleting my rides. Thank you

    I'm having the same issue. I bought mine about a month ago and it freezes on about half of my rides, sometimes in different ways. I've had it completely freeze, just distance freeze but time and HR are still going, etc. The only recommendation I've seen so far is to reset it (hold power button down for 20-30 seconds), but it seems to be a recurring issue. I may return mine.

    This is what mine done. Mines only 5 weeks old. I reset it then I lost the ride completely. I may return mine too.

    Main reason I sent mine back. ReplacementS did same. Among many other issues. 

  • Did you guys load the Beta software into the unit and then report the problem (provide data) to Garmin?

    Open a ticket with Garmin. They may decide its defective and replace it. I have had two with the same issue, so you are not alone.
