How can I get my Garmin edge 530 to stop recording a ride, when I sitting at my desk?

I can be setting at my desk and turn on my garmin to check some settings and the unit will start recording a ride. I do have auto start enabled to start recording at 6 mph. I am not moving 6 mph sitting at my desk. This happened with the previous 5.10 software as well as the newer 5.50 software update.

Particularly if you are indoors with poor GPS reception, GPS errors can be far enough apart that it seems to the unit that you are moving at 6 mph.

You can check and edit many settings without starting a ride.

Personally, I use the "Prompted" Autostart setting. It reminds me to press start if I have forgotten before commencing a ride, but the decision to start recording is definitely mine.

I have this exactly same issue. Thought it weird that it would start recording a ride on its own
