Garmin Speed Sensor or Shimano Steps eBike sensor?

I purchased the Garmin 530 mountain bike bundle at the weekend and all works great. I also have an e-mtn bike with Shimano Steps. I've paired the two together without a problem.

Does the distance and speed sensor of the Shimano Steps make the Garmin speed sensor irrelevant? Which sensor will the Garmin use - the Garmin speed sensor or the speed/distance sensor of the Shiman Steps?

Pick the sensor you want to use and disable the other in the Edge Sensor Settings.

Perfect. So if I disable the Garmin speed sensor, the Garmin 530 unit will pick up the speed and distance from the Shimano Steps eBike sensor. I'll give it a try before my next ride.
