factory reset ?

previous threads have stated a factory reset is achieved by

1. Turn device off
2. Hold the Down key while powering on the device
3. Continue holding the down key until the “Factory Reset” prompt appears
4. Select OK to clear

Tried this on my 530 after applying the new 5.50 firmware.    Never get the "Factory Reset" prompt?    Has this changed?

In the end I did the reset setting from the menus.     I also tried 

1. Turn device off
2. Hold Lap/Reset and Start/Stop
3. Press and release the power button
4. Continue to hold only Lap/Reset and Start/Stop
5. Release Lap/Reset and Start/Stop when the Garmin Logo is cleared
6. The unit will restart and clear non-vol

which seemed to work.          So what is the correct method for doing factory reset after applying new firmware?

I took a full backup of the device prior to updating so have copied back in the previous settings, locations, courses, ....etc
