Edge 530 wifi just blinking

I just watched this video about Komoot being more interconnected with my Garmin device.

I followed his instructions and looked for the course I thought would end up on my device and then noticed my WIFI symbol was just blinking.  I looked at the device settings and then turned the unit on and off and nothing --- the wifi symbol just keeps blinking.

I know I have wifi connectivity because I'm using it to get to this forum.

Just found out, the devices will only connect to 2.4ghz bands.  Although my mesh system says it had activiated the 2.4ghz band, the garmin would not distinguish, and kept trying to connect to 5ghz.  So, connected to a separate network that was only on 2.4 and now it works.  Annoying though as it looks as though they don't like auto trafficing mesh networks..

  • This post helped me a lot...  My network automatically steers between 2.4 and 5 GHz and I didn't want to create separate SSIDs for each, so in the modem's browser-based setup I entered the MAC address of my Garmin on the WiFi steering page and set it to use the 2.4GHz channel.
