Garmin Edge 530 Black Screen

My Garmin 530 for the second time went black while charging. I was charging on my computer and when achieved 100% it beeped and the screen went black and I cannot start again.
I had other brand new head unit I bought from Wiggle UK end of last year (2019) and returned and they refunded me for this issue.
Then I bought a brand new unit from Garmin while they were in Adelaide for the Tour down under to give Garmin a second chance.
I have used this unit since January 2020 a few times and again it happened.
I am frustrated with Garmin I absolute hate the company for this. 
It cannot be bad luck. This product is just crap and I want to return the product and get my money back and never be a Garmin customer ever again.
I had a head unit Edge 820 for 2 years and never failed and this crap edge 530 already is giving me this head ache. I had to wait weeks (like 5 weeks) from Wiggle UK to inspect my unit and I had to pay post and handling.
Anyone had this problem?

  • Well, i had same problem, yesterday Garmin still works - today, i try to power on but screen remain black - but if i connect to pc - on garmin express recognize it, but still screen is black. any hints?

  • This is a known defect for which Garmin has redesigned the Edge 530. The newer units don't have this problem. Garmin will replace your older unit if you contact their support group and describe the problem to them.
