Connect Edits Sync?

Well I left the Edge on while driving home. As soon as I stopped the activity it auto uploaded to Connect. I then went into Connect and modified the ride. I confirmed that the modified ride was displaying on my Phone app and did a sync. When I go to the Edge's history it still shows the unedited version of the ride.

Is it supposed to sync the edited ride to the Edge or do I have to modify the fit file?

If I do have to modify the fit file, does it then sync a second copy of the ride to Connect?

    The edit only applies to the ride in Garmin connect. It does not back sync to the Edge. If you have physio true up enabled then if you delete the activity off the Edge the modified ride summary from GC will be put on the Edge the next time you sync.

    I don’t have physio trueup on. If I turn it on, do the sync and then turn it off, will it then be deleted from the edge?

    Secondly, if I modify the fit file from the edge and the delete the ride from Connect, will the modified ride be synced to Connect?

    I tried the Physio Trueup but it synced the original ride with the car not the modified version from GC.

    Also, I tried modifying the fit file using FIT File Tools. It produced a fit file but I can't get it to show up on my edge after copying it over. Why would that be?

    The modified file would need to be placed directly in the activities folder.

    Also if physio true up did report the data from the original file, which sounds like bug to me, that file is still on the unit.

    If you have switch physio true-up off then delete all the files from Garmin\Summary. This is the location where the summary files are placed.

    If you are viewing activities under history and an activity has an activity icon next to it, it is a summary file and not the original file on the unit.

    I tried both the Activities folder and the Newfiles folder. Neither worked with the modified file from FIT File Tools. I did an export out of GC web of the original fit file and that file loaded when added to the Newfiles folder but that doesn't help me.

    I turned off physio trueup and everything cleared out. 

    I still need to figure out a way to get a modified fit file into the Edge.
