Music display on Edge 530

Has anyone found a data field or widget for the Edge 530 that display the music track and artist playing on your phone?  We have a Garmin built-in widget on the VivoActive 3 that can do that and give you control of the audio output of the phone such as next track, volume and pause.  When listening to tunes on bluetooth earbuds while on a mountain bike ride, I'd like to be able to just look at a data field or page on my 530 that shows what's playing, don't even need control of it.  But I can't find any Connect IQ item that can do that.  Am I missing one?

  • I think garmin should focus on resolve annoying issues (power dropouts, freeze, etc.) with that bike computers instead spread his power and build new features.

IMO this is bike computer and training center and should not be used to switch between songs. My 2 cents.

  • I recommend using a samsung tablet S6 for choosing the music. U can also watch netflix while you ride.

  • I was also looking for something like this recently. I would love to be able to change the song with the Garmin remote so I dont have to take my hands off the bars.

  • I wanted the same. Finally got this solution. I use my edge 1030 to track the ride, but use my Forerunner to control and see the music on my phone.

  • Hello, I've developed a widget for Garmin Edge 530 that allows remote control of Spotify. I've successfully integrated it with my Android app, and everything is working smoothly. I'll be making some final adjustments before sharing the source code on GitHub for anyone who might be interested.

  • Are you planning on adding to Garmin Connect?

  • I'll try, but I don't know if Garmin will approve it.

  • I have been trying to find a music widget.  I saw that Garmin has added this to some of its other models and it would be nice (if possible) if they added the music widget option to the Edge 530.   It would be much easier to control my podcasts and music with the Edge than to use the single button on my AfterShokz headset.  I disagree with the gentleman above who wanted other things fixed and did not think music control was important on a bike computer.....there is no reason why they cannot work on both.   They have added this feature to other models so it may not be difficult to add it to this one.  I use mainly Pandora and Tidal for music and PocketCasts for podcasts.  Many of us use these bike computers for recreational biking as well.

Just an addendum:  I called Garmin and after checking they told me that the ability to do that started at the 40 series and above.   The 530 does not have this ability.
