I have a new Garmin 530 and connected with my Verve Infocrank powermeter via ANT+. When I go to Settings > Sensors > 2914 (SensorID) > Sensor Details it says 'Crank Length: Automatic 180.0mm'. The real crank length should be 172.5mm, and there is no way to adjust it with the Garmin device. However, I read somewhere that crank length only matters for pedal based power meters, so could I just ignore this wrong value and assume it is not 'used' in the data processing?
Interestingly, when I connect the powermeter with my old computer (Lezyne Micro GPS), I am able to set the crank length manually to the correct value. Moreover, if the garmin is connected at the same time, the crank length is also changed to 172.5mm.
There obviously is a bug somewhere in the Garmin software or the powermeter firmware or both, but my question is whether this affects the power readings or not?
