edge 530 base map

I'm ready to purchase the Garmin Edge 530

I live in Europe

Does the unit come with all cycling maps for europe?

Maybe a better question is -- what is base maps?

I'm moving up from a 705 where I have all US and EU maps available to install

I don't think the base map gets updated very often as it has very limited information on it. It only gets used if you are in area where you have no detailed maps or zoom out to a very high level.

To the other question. If you are buying the European unit it will have maps for the whole of Europe on it.
