How is my edge uploading ride data to Garmin connect when bluetooth is off?

I have a Edge 530 and an android phone with connect installed. I've turned bluetooth off manually, but the edge is still uploading my ride data to connect.

Firstly, I don't want my rides to auto-sync. How do I disable this?

Secondly, how is it possible for the edge to upload ride data to connect without bluetooth being active?

The unit can also upload rides using WiFi (Settings -> Connected Features -> Wifi -> Auto Upload).

I'm not sure if you can disable the sync completely, for example it will sync when you connect to (USB or Bluetooth) to apply an update.

Thank you! I assumed it only uploaded the ride data to connect on my phone, but apparently it can auto-upload it directly to the cloud then picked up by my connect app. I appreciate the assistance.

I have the same problem with 830.

Both WiFi Auto Upload is OFF and in GC app Auto Upload is OFF.

Are you using a speed sensor that you've paired with Garmin Connect app? The speed sensor can also log rides and provide them to GC as activities

I have the old GSC-10 speed/CAD sensor. This one does not log anything.
