garmin edge 530 will not sync or pair with garmin variations rtf 510

how do i pair garmin 530 with rtl510 ? i followed instruction both garmin items are new but the 530 does not recognize rtl510. i notice 530 in select sensor it has radar 15913 is this the connection? i selected that sensor and moved on to ride and it didn't show in right corner that it was working

Best way to pair the trl510.

1. Press and hold then power button on the light. The status light on the rtl will turn blue, then flash purple. This shows it is in pairing mode.

2. On the Edge, search for the rtl specifically as a "light" rather than all sensors, and add it.

3. Press the rtl power button again so that it flashes blue.
