DI2 wont Pair with new Edge 530

I just replaced my Edge 520 with a new Edge 530. When I check the box to add my DI2 as a sensor, the circle on the top just keeps spinning. The only way to exit it to use the back button, and then it asks if I wish to exit without saving. I’ve updated all the DI2 software for all the components and it just won’t pair.

I tried to pair it the next morning after struggling till midnight the night before. It somehow paired, and works perfectly now.

I had the same problem trying to connect my Edge 530 to my Shimano Ultegra Di2 R8150, 12-speed. The edge recognized the Di2, I checked the box for the Di2 under sensors, and like you the circle on the top…

Working for me via the EW-WU111 Ant+/Bluetooth module.

Indeed you want to make sure that you have a EW-WU111 (or WU110 if memory serves) installed. Most Di2 systems don't come with these pre-installed.

Hooked up etube over usb charge cable and indeed no wireless module was found.

That's odd, I have it working fine on Ultegra R8050 and WU111
What variant of Groupset and Wireless module are you using?

Got the 530 paired to 2 x lights, L/R power meter, HRM, Speed sensor, Di2, Tacx trainer and my phone all working ok

Ordered Di2 Inline Wireless Unit - EW-WU111 and 150mm E-Tube Di2 Wire since my bike doesn't have it. Kind of a gut punch to find out a new Cervelo C3 Di2 Disk comes without the wireless unit.

I'm not sure that the wireless unit comes standard on many factory builds. I built the groupset specs myself as an upgrade to an existing bike

My pals expensive BMC didn't come with one either; I guess that's $30 extra on their bottom line per bike.

It's worth having, if nothing more than to know the state of the battery.

As others have mentioned the EW-WU111 is the most common unit although there are others from Shimano.

If your Di2 system does not have an ANT transmitter installed please look into getting one installed if you would like to pair your Di2 system to your Edge. If you are equipped with an ANT transmitter please reach out to us at support.garmin.com for further assistance. Please verify whether an ANT transmitter is present through your local bike shop if you are unsure.
