Edge 530 won’t connect to RTL510

just upgraded my computer to the 530 and it will not connect to my RTL510 radar and light. I have tried  at least 50:times. The Radar is in pairing mode (flashing purple LED) and the edge sees it and I select it, then the icon in the upper right just spins and in about 5 mins the Edge powers off and no connection is ever made. I have Reset the device to factory settings, battery saver is OFF, all software is up to date. If it won’t work with my radar it goes back to REI Monday. It connects to other sensors fine and to my phone. Maybe the RTL still thinks it belongs to the old computer? If so there is no way to tell it to forget that connection! Do I need a new light? Might be too late to return it..HELP, very frustrated as this looks like a software issue.

    it will say forming a light network and will connect. Make sure Radar is in pairing mode first, the 530 will see it and then select it, go back and select Add Sensor and it should work.

    Thanks issue was my edge was did not have the 5.34 software update not yet on Garmin express.  Garmin support helped troubleshoot and provided the linked. All works now so I am a happy cyclist Grinning

    i am having the same problems as you (6547964) with my 530 and rtl510 not pairing. called garmin was on phone for two hours and still could not get the pairing. i have latest software but not the 5.34 software update. how did you get the 5.34 ? How is it running since the update

    Mine is working fantastic -  love it. - had 4 long rides and pairs immediately each time  

    The update is not on Garmin express. You need to update software manually through copying a few files.
    To get the update just  Google - “garmin updates 5.34”.  The  beta 5.34 link to upload download file will display.   You need to use a computer.  

    download the file and unzip and put in a folder on c drive - refer to the instructions 

    connect Garmin device into computer Using your USB cable  

    now Just need to Copy the update files for 5.34 from your  C drive folder to the /Garmin folder on the USB drive for your device. Gupdate is the key file.   Follow the instructions from the download to ensure device updated to 5.34 when you turn it on.    Then you can do the pairing - it took a minute to pair.

    Also Just follow - step 1 to 3 of update instructions.
    Ignore step 4

    Mine was the same. The light would light up until it paired with the 530 then it would just have the little blue light showing because the 530 turns it off. You have to change the light settings on the 530. Settings>Sensors>Lights then change the light setting so its on all the time.

    Thank you! I had the same problem and this was the solution!. The manual should mention or show that as it is not intuitive at all.

    This should be clearly indicated in the instructions for adding a sensor on the 530 and also on the RTL directions. Stupid that I had to spend 30 minutes searching this:  After you select the sensor on the edge, use the up-arrow to select "Add Sensor" and select it.

    Hi did you ever manage to fix this I have exactly the same problem....?
