strange I didn't see that, now I do, like someone has added a post and backdated the timestamp, or was it an 830 post and now shared into 530, all good at least something has been posted of a notification

My 530 has been working perfectly, always start to get nervous when new firmware is pushed out and what’s possibly about to break...

There is a distinct need for a feature to disable automatic updates...
Garmin's updates are so unreliable that they need to provide a way for devices to not update without deliberate user permission, including the ability to roll back to older software without resetting the device. 

No, that is what microsoft/windows did. The desire to turn off updates should motivate garmin to become a better software company.

Yeah auto updates is very bad...right during my race with a lock up hard reboot then update.  Lost about 5 minutes of data.  I really think this update needs to be pulled not pushed.

If the unit is not connected to Wi-Fi or a phone via Bluetooth it can't auto update.  Make sure your unit is not connected to anything and can't connect to anything except sensors when you definitely don't want the possibility of an update happening.

Kinda makes it hard to upload ride data though

So, Garmin Connect said there was a software update and it seemed to go through but nothing happened on the device. I've tried rebooting it and it still shows 2.60. Garmin Express also doesn't show any update available, any tip for applying 2.70?

kronos just checked my garmin express (PC) settings / schedule and it has automatic download device updates as anytime and I'm using firmware beta 5.24 for the edge530, check to see if you have updates set to NEVER, you can always change back to NEVER after it does the update.
