Charging (bug?) Causes Device to Require "Reset"

Hello,

If I fully charge (I haven't checked it it happens on less of a charge) my edge 530 I have to hold power button for a while until the device beeps (20 seconds?) then do it again to get the device I boot/behave normally. Works as expected and sleeps fine until next charge.

Newest software with no connectiq apps/fields installed.

Not a huge issue but seems like a bug? Totally reproducible.

I've noticed this with mine as well. It doesn't do it every time but it still happens fairly regularly.

New Edge 530, charged two times since getting it, both times it locked up during charging requiring a hard reset.

I see this frequently when I'm riding with my Edge 530 plugged into a dynamo. The device will freeze and requires a reset to continue.

prwissen Forgive me, but what are you referring to when you say "dynamo"? I just want to make sure I understand what you're experiencing.

Son 28 dynamo hub (power generating). I have experienced the freezing at least a half dozen times, both while navigating a long route(400+ miles), and while simply recording a 1-2 hour ride. It seems to only happen when plugged in and charging. The current provided will come and go depending on how fast you are going.

Isn't the output from a SON Dynamo AC? You would need a rectified 5v DC output to charge the Edge

@hotdogpartysausage I didn't tell the whole story. :) The Garmin is plugged in via standard USB cable to a Sinewave Beacon headlight which also provides the rectified 5V DC output.

I am getting this issue when charging my new 1030-Plus, can't believe its not been fixed after 3 years!
