Display Step Notes

Hello

I just got a garmin edge 530 and I'm setting it up.

When doing a workout I want the step notes to be displayed. I've seen lots of people asking this question here, but no one was provided a useful answer so I assume that means it isn't possible? Clicking in the right-hand corner to see them isn't practical; for them to be useful they need to be displayed with the lap info (just like they are on a Fenix watch). When a lap starts it takes up half the screen displaying lap type (recovery, bike, etc..) with the duration/distance; there is pleny of room in there to display notes.

Hopefully this is possible! Seems easy to add and like a big oversight if it isn't!

I wonder if anyone from Garmin has EVER done a structured program where a workout step requires both power and cadence targets - surely they would have experienced first-hand, the wish for workout step notes to be displayed....

I am looking at the same thing but could not find it. i believe garmin dont have this feature. would be good feature request .

How in the hell Garmin won't display step notes on cycling units like 530 and they are displayed on my old Fenix 3 watch ?! Why create the option to write notes if you can't display them?

I found out today how to display them on the 530, but not as data field, as I'd like.

On the workout page, press the top right button (Enter button). Then in the menu, there are 2 workout specific options.

- Restart workout step

- Display step notes

Or something to that effect.

Not as handy as in a data field, but at least available.

To display notes in two fields (current and next step) it is worth using the IQ: Workout Notes field.

The field of notes is limited to 212 characters!

Thanks for the info. Good to know there are options. I still prefer to have it how my watch does it and just pop up a box displaying the note between intervals (rather than taking up fields), but this looks like a reasonable alternative.

Thanks. I tried this Connect IQ Data Field but the fields displayed empty for me on an Edge 530.

Notes from the CIQ data field:

"To make it work on Edge Series the latest Beta firmware is required with ConnectIQ 3.2"

I didn't go after installing any beta version, but I have version 3.2.5
