how to change the pre-installed map

Hi, I have purchased a garmin 830 in US, but I would like to use it only in EU. Can I change the pre-Installed map (and not to download the free maps) to get the missage of the updates and easy download by garmin express?

    No.  You will have to download a free map of the new area you want or buy a Garmin map for the new area.  It is not a bad thing to use a free 3rd party map as they will be based on the same OpenStreetMap data.
