Suggestions to Improve mountain bike jump data

I love the concept of tracking and reporting mountain bike jump data, however I feel its execution makes the feature impractical for ride use.

The only way to see your jump data while on the trail is via a "Jump Alert", which provide a tone alert and a short display notification that appears for a few seconds and then goes away.  I find that while mountain biking, the alert is impractical for real trail use.  Most times when you are jumping, you are riding mountain bike trails very aggressively and taking your eyes off the trail is not an option to review the alert, especially if you are on a trail that has multiple back to back jumps.  Then once you are done riding the jumps and stopped in a safe area, you can not review the prior jump results until you download after ride in the Garmin App.

I suggest the following for the next 530 software update.

Add a data screen that allows the rider to review the recorded jump data at any point in time, displaying with the most recent.  That would allow a rider to stop on the trail at a safe spot and review their jump results.  This would also allow someone to use the data to session a jump line over and over, using the data to improve their jumping and being able to review on the trail the results of each run.

Also it would be interesting to offer jump data metrics similar to Grit and Flow.  Maybe something like the average jump length over the last five jumps or average jump hang time over the last five jumps.

  • Having a short history of jumps you could scroll through would be a nice feature.  Yep, no way you are going to read what's on the screen while you are  bombing down a tail.

Yes, spent a bunch of time trying to add a data screen for jumps. Also would be great if in Connect you could see your "best" or any jump and then click on it and have it take your right to the map where it happened.
