Garmin 530 Strava Segments "OFF SEGMENT"

Hi guys... after much deliberation I've opted to go Garmin again.. retired my old 820. (the usb connector corroded and would no longer charge) A loyal servant with a few glitches over the years... 

What it didn't ever do ... is lose Strava Segments. Oh woe is the new Edge 530 totally not fit for task. 

Using the new Garmin 530 Strava segments (firware 4.10) I have tried the same segment with GPS / GPS + Galileo  / GPS + GLONAS

Makes no difference after X Km's I lose the segment. 

I don't really know what to do from here.. Strava segments are quite integral to my training program. Is this a hardware issue? I've never had this issue with my 820, and as a guide I've ridden this segment 90 odd times. 

Anyone able to assist. Perhaps my unit is faulty?

    You are replying to the posts but not reading what people are saying. 

    The segment has worked fine for me for 5 years. No issue, this is for people using various devices. Using the Live segments feature.

    My friends wahoo has no problem. My old 820 .. also no problem. The issue is the 530. There is a flaw here. Can you please accept that and start working on a solution to the live segment issue. Rather than blame the segment which all evidence suggests is perfect.

    Yeah Lopey66 needs to stop contributing to this thread.

    I suspect this issue will never be fixed because it's hardware not software unfortunately. That is why there is zero input from any Garmin reps on any of the threads about it.

    I wonder if this is also affecting the 830. Maybe I'll just open a ticket with Garmin to see where it goes from there.

    GPS drifting on each lap

    I accept there is problem, with the segment tracking in  activity he does 3 laps, the blue line is the segment matched on one lap, and the red lines is his activity are the other 2 laps and in strava 2 of the laps are only matched. the GPS has drifted on and off along as you can see each lap there is a similar mirror route

    I understand the complaint, by providing no example of a problem, we all will get no where, I have my own strava API and have analysed my own issues, I have checked the activity provided and can see GPS drift from 3 different laps and shown a picture of that in another reply. the next is being able to reproduce the problem and not reproduce problem.

    No change. Still drops.. has been over a year, numerous updates. Can I get a refund on this and just go with Wahoo which works?

    Get Wahoo. Always works for segments.

    it comes down to accuracy of GPS data, 530 is doing a lot predictive GPS, I have also tried on a velodrome to map the track at walking pace on different days with different results, what I can see it doesnt like you turning, predictive GPS is ok for Cars, but when following a segment, ideally you would want the garmin to predict using the segment if that is active
