short battery life

Hello, I bought Garmin edge 530 last week and it looses around 11% per hour. which is not nearly 20 hours what Garmin says it can do. I have Bluetooth connected to my phone, GPS, and 3 sensors via ant+. So should i return it or sent to Garmin for battery replacement under warranty?

Yeah, 60% backlight will chew the battery.

Other settings with high battery drain are using GLONASS or GALILEO in addition to GPS.

Varia Radar also seems to use battery faster than most other ANT+ sens…

what is your backlight setting? I use my edge 530 with the similar scenario you mentioned but set backlight to 10%. Only 3~4% battery consumption per hour.

yes i was using 60% backlight maybe thats what is causing it. i will try 10%. thank you

Try Auto Brightness. Works great for me and I lose around 4-5% per hour.

Continually re-rendering the map takes processor power and battery, so don't have the map as your main screen, but just refer to it when necessary.
