Reversing Course on device or smartphone

Hello, when I was about to start a course but I wanted to ride it in the other opposite direction, is it possible to reverse that course by only using your GPS device? I couldn't find it. Then I searched in the Garmin Connect app, and also didn't find it. So you have to use your PC to reserve your course?

    Yes, no such feature on the device. In Garmin Connect web site, go to Training -> Courses -> Choose course -> ... (3 dots at bottom right of course summary) -> Edit -> Reverse direction -> Save course. Note you will end up with two courses, e.g., one going CW an the other going CCW, if you wanna save both of them that is.

    Interestingly the Forerunner 935 (which I used for tracking my rides before buying the Edge 530) can do this on the watch no problem. Sometimes would be really useful. I hope this gets added to the Edge as well.

    You mean the website Garmin Connect? Because on my smartphone, it doesn't show 'Reverse direction'. Only 3 things: Details, Help and Add waypoint, but not 'Reverse direction'. The app Komoot has that function though, so not such a big problem. But it would have been easier with the device itself.

    Yes, the Garmin Connect website, sorry. I updated my post above. Agree, this should be a feature on the device, because now you have 2 saved courses differing only in direction taken.

    Thanks for the explanation. Can this be changed? I mean, does Garmin see these comments? And if they do, would it be possible that this feature will be on the device (Garmin Edge 530) and/or smartphone app?

    Yes Garmin reads some of these comments, and sometimes responds to them.

    BTW if you imported a route to Garmin from Strava only by 'starring' it on Strava (after which it automatically appears in Garmin Connect), then there will be no default option to 'Edit' the course when following ZillaG's instructions above. However if you select' duplicate, the next step will allow you to reverse direction.

    I rode with friends yesterday who all had Wahoo devices. They were able to reverse the course from their device. I just made sure I stayed with one of those riders to navigate my way home. Hope this feature is added to the Garmin suite of devices and mobile software soon!

    Really incredible... I have the Edge 830, and I've never searched to this function, since it should be a basic one for a map device... Suddenly, I needed it during my ride... and I didn't find. I can't believe it doesn't have this function! It's a shame for a Garmin device. I don't use the Garmin Connect to edit my tracks, Garmin doesn't have any good editor, another negative point for it. So, I didn't know it's possible to convert using Connect... anyway, I can't ride with my notebook and cables... there are functions we need on the way, on the device.
