my edge 530 is not functioning

when I switch on, it still on and I could do nothing. all buttons doesn't function.

written "Get Assistance"

To send location, check phone connection and try again.

I just bought it recently.

Please help.

was there a solution for this?

i have tried a reset holding the lap and play pause button,

occasionally the edge 530 starts and once i enter the user data (height, weight, sex, units of measurement etc.) i get a memory full notification and the unit won't do anything.

On one occasion i managed to get to the settings and restart the device clearing the data however this has not resolved the issue either.

Any help greatly appreciated.

I had an issue on my device 3y ago and the only way to fix was replacing some files on the unit. Garmin sent one (probably a refurbished device) to replace mine and before I sent mine to them I replaced the setup files and eventually it worked. Of course, I kept mine. Anyway, my issues started when I tried to update on the PC.

Let me know if you want to give a try. I believe I have a copy of that device or even mine somewhere here.

I think I am sorted, over my lunch I got some fantastic assistance from Rowan on the live chat, after deleting a bunch of files in line with a tech doc the device has connected to Garmin Connect, updated to the latest firmware and reloaded the maps. Just need the boss lady to get back from work and connect it up with her phone and her Garmin account.
