Segments - without Strava premium.

Is it possible to have segments in my 530 without Strava Premium. I think one cannot access segments without paying for a strava subscriptions (happy to be proven wrong). So is there another way to download or create my own segments and have it on my 530 ?

    I don't see a "Segment" tab under the graphs in my web Garmin Connect?

    I am trying to understand how Garmin Live Segments work when using either navigation and/or a structured workout:

    (1) let's say I have a Garmin Segment and I am following a course planned via the Garmin Connect web site - will I get the segment alerts screen when navigating said course?

    (2) let's say I planned the course in komoot and loaded it to the Edge via komoot's CIQ app - will I get a segment alert?

    (3) will I get segment alerts at all when following a structured workout in addition to navigating a course?

    1 and 3 is yes provided the course comes from Garmin Connect and is download via Garmin Express or Garmin Connect Mobile.

    In these cases the segments get built into the course file by Garmin Connect so will get executed when the course is used.

    If I understand you correctlly - in these cases (following a courses via Garmin Connect) is NOT neccessary to upload segments manually to the Garmin device? The *.FIT file (or *.GPX file) will automaticlly include segments on the courses?

    The FIT file includes references to the segment files, but does NOT actually include the segment data.

    When GC delivers the course file to your unit it also delivers the segments that are referenced.

    Thanks for quick reply!

    It is strange. Because when I send course from GC I don't have segmens from course in my device. I can not find them in segments and also they don't alert me.

    When I send them manually to the device, everything works. Do you know what can be wrong?

    Strange. I will check that out next time I export a course.

    Thank you very much! I'm soo curious, because now I have to check my course if there are any segments.

    If yes, I have to manually downloaded them to my device.

    .... it givs me last question to you, please. Is any possibilty how to see segments on my course? Before I will ride them?

    Only works if you have premium... Without premium you're stuck with Garmin segments.
