Campagnolo EPS V3 as remote?

On my edge 820 I use the shifters on my Campagnolo EPS V3 to scroll through the pages and to activate the lap function. I can't seem to get that working on the edge 530.
Can anyone guide me?

At the moment, the Garmin firmware in the 530 doesn't speak to the EPS v3 head unit.

Strange downgrade. I can see gear ratio, battery staus etc.

Do you have any idea how long “at the moment” last?

Are you sure you can change pages on the 820 using the EPS. The EPS communicates to the Edge using the ANT+ Shifting profile, which does not support page changing.

The page changing is a feature of the Di2, which is implemented over a private ANT implementation.

You should be able to pair the EPS and get the gear data and battery info to show on the Edge.

Yes I am sure. On my setup I change pages using the smal menu button on the right hand side shifter. Left hand is used for laps.

If so then it should work on the 530/830.

Are you able to pair the EPS withe Edge?

Partly. On 820 I find both a EPS gear sensor and a EPS Remote sensor.

On the 530 I only find the EPS gear sensor, which give me gear ratio, battery level etc.

That makes sense. As the ANT+ Shifting spec does not support page changing. The EPS must be supporting two protocols, the ANT+ Shifting and the ANT+ Controls.

If you are changing head units I think you will need to dissociate the EPS from 820 before you can pair it with the 530. When operating as a remote the EPS can only be associated with one head unit at a time.

Looking at the EPS documentation I found the following

Procedure of disassociation of the EPS, in REMOTE CONTROL mode, from one bike computer Keep the bike computer off Turn on the EPS and press 5 times the RH button MODE and 5 times the LH MODE button Turn off the EPS Turn on the bike computer, go to sensors setting, and disassociate the REMOTE CONTROL.

Tried as described above without luck a couple of times. The 530 could not find the remote.

Turned on the 530, pressed 5 times on right, then 5 times left - and then the remote occured as a sensor.
