Couple of Structured Workout Questions

Recent convert from a Wahoo Bolt here having a couple of questions regarding structured workouts planned in TrainingPeaks:

(1) If I use the TrainingPeaks calendar connection: How do I ride my structured workout on a trainer? Tried it yesterday, Tacx Flux connected via ANT+ without problems but Edge didn't ask me whether I wanted to follow the session planned for today. When starting a "normal" outdoor bike activity it did ask me whether I want to follow today's workout.

(2) Is there a way to re-do an interval when following a structured workout? I annoyingly tend to run into traffic lights during intervals and if it happens at the start of the interval, I'd rather stop and restart the interval. So, can I jump to different stages of a workout on a Garmin?

  • Ad. 2 - that would be so nice to have that functionality, I had it in Wahoo Element and for outside workouts it is really useful. I have regrets swapping my old computer for 530. As a training tool without gimmicky functionality wahoo is simply better tool

  • Have to agree with , although I greatly prefer to ride with Edge - situational awareness is just much better when compared to the Bolt. It is just the little things that, IMHO, tend to show that Garmin doesn't field test enough of the thousands of options they're offering.

With regards to (1): I think I've found the issue / quirk: When starting either an indoor or outdoor activity with a TrainingPeaks structured workout scheduled for that day, the Edge asks me whether I want to do the workout. However, replying "Yes" doesn't - for reasons unknown - lead to a successful start. Going to Training, selecting today's workout and then selecting "Ride" did. Took me a while to get that sorted and I don't understand why this is happening but I can live with it.
