Edge 530 GPS Accuracy is fixed at 3m

Hi,

Is it a normal situation when I always see on data field showing GPS accuracy 3m?

I've changed GNSS configurations to GPS only, GPS+Glonass and GPS+Galileo but I've always seen 3m.

In my opinion there's something wrong because I have ridden in the forest and mountains so the GPS signal had to be disturbed.

Does anybody observed similar case?

Yes, noticed the same, even though it's often way off in tracking..... :-(

Same on my Edge 830. I put the accuracy data field onto my map screen to check it while biking through forrests etc and it still shows 3m even when the shown position is way off my real position...

Same, even where GPS accuracy way off course.

Edge 530 accuracy is way off under tree cover / around buildings, unlike my phone, edge 510, edge 520+ and fenix 5.

I've created ticket to Garmin Support but they told me that I am the only one with this problem.

Can someone else report this fault?

Testing in poor conditions. Samsung S7 with Locus PRO near E530. Garmin Edge 530 shows low GPS signal (2 of 5) but accuracy still very good.

I read somewhere that Garmin are using new Sony GPS chips (presumably also in the new Edge units) that have been having issues elsewhere (supposedly use less power = better battery life), I’m wondering if this is why we are seeing so many issues around GPS accuracy? The GPS on my 510 was rock solid, shame they can’t leave well enough alone.

The 820 has such a problem. there are only 2 values , --- when there is no reception and 3m, with GPS, or +Glonass or +Galileo, doesnt matter, even indoor where the Edge 1000 shows 60-70m accuracy same time (in Edge 1K it is working good, it's a dynamic variable number not a constant.)

jupp its totaly off/fixed at 3m.

i was navigating via turn by turn and it failed horrobily due to gps+galileo drawing my position between two roads that are. Accuracy showed 3m.
