Question about Garmin support for defective hardware?

I'm considering buying an Edge 530 on eBay if I find I get one of the early models that have defective buttons can I return it to Garmin Australia for quick and easy replacement or do I have to deal with the eBay seller?

  • I asked the eBay seller and he said that in the first few weeks of selling them they had button issues but none for a couple of months now.

    Also said this....

"Garmin are very good with warranty and will usually replace very quickly with minimal fuss if there is a known fault as such. If there was a fault you would deal with Garmin Australasia in Eastern Creek, NSW directly."

  • I think you’re best to ask Garmin Australia what they would do in case of an eBay warranty claim.

  • Yeah I would have but they are closed for the weekend so I decided to trust the seller as I need it quickly before I go on holidays. He does sell HEAPS of Garmin stuff so risking bullshitting me and getting bad feedback would not be wise and not give him good cred with Garmin.
