I have the above HRM. Wondering if anyone else has the same with the new 530 or 830. I've come across a little issue. The HRM should last around 24 hours and to be fair, on the Wahoo bolt I was getting not far off that. That is, just recording HR with a 2 min HRV in the am too. I've come back to Garmin and purchased the brilliant 530 but I have an issue. The Rythym24 appears to continuously lock the cycling profile on HRM?! Why is this a problem, you ask? The device operates different profiles and with various magical algorithms and accelerometers, it can give cycling or running cadence. It's really pretty good too. However, it takes a battery penality, I'm guessing because of the cadence.
Now, the old, 'its not us, it's them' comment were made, when I contact Scosche support in USA. Apparently, the Edge appears to knock the device into this cycling specific mode. Everytime I move it back (via the Scosche app) to 'just' Heart rate (to maximise battery) it flicks back to 'cycling'.
I think this is just Garmin edge specific. The same action isn't apparent on, Trainerroad (AnT+), Zwift (Ant+) Strava app (either BTLE or Ant +- Samsung s9 plus) and Wahoo elemnt Bolt.
Any ideas, especially from @ Garmin- Matthew or any other moderators/users of the Scosche Rythym24?
The other idea is use the HRM via BTLE on the Edge530. Since, it brilliantly uses BT now, but I'm guessing that'll have battery penality too
