Disable Incident Detection?

Anyone figured out how to disable Incident detection and the annoying notification that its either enabled or disabled? Without a contact set in the app its always disabled and notifies every ride. With a contact set it always changes to enabled even after changing the setting to disabled it will revert to enabled after reboot etc.

Garmin if you actually read this forum please start to listen to requests. This is annoying to not have a simple option. On my edge 520 I had this go off repeatedly when riding a difficult MTB track. I hadn't crashed and the last thing I wanted to be doing when riding such a difficult trail was to take my hand of the bars to disable something I didn't want and riding with the alarm going off is not good for concentration not to mention the alert being sent to friends. It can't be hard to let me enable or disable this setting and not give me an distracting and annoying alert.

Remove the contacts from the incident detection menu to disable it.

The notification a cannot remove it.

For now, I just disable it every time I boot the 530.

Garmin - please stop resetting my selection every time there is an update to the unit.

I have chosen Incident Detection to be OFF but you keep switching it back on again.

Why do I switch it off? Because when I stop at traffic lights, the coffee shop and yes also for a pee - the alarm starts going off.

Just respect my selection choice and leave it be - please!!!

Agreed! Can't turn it off - it always turns back on. Make the setting "sticky" until you get the sensitivity adjusted correctly. First time that alarm went off I almost had an incident!

Thanks for responding. Ideally I would like to be able to have the emergency contacts set and then either enable or disable incident detection and have the setting save. I don't want a warning saying disabled when I set it to disabled. It should only warn if I have it set to enabled and for whatever reason it cant works.

As a temporary fix you can remove the emergency contacts from your phone, the Garmin Connect App will no longer send them to your device, and as a result will disable incident detect. The fix for this will come in a future update that is planned for early July.

How do you remove emergency contacts. I have three that I tried to set up but it required country codes to be amended before it would accept them. I have done that but I am still getting the same error. I thought deleting the selected contacts and trying agan might work?

Exactly same problem here, not able to delete emergency contacts if prefix is missing. What a utterly stupid bug :(

When can we expect the update to allow us to permanently disable the incident detection as my 530 tried twice to contact my emergency contacts when I stopped.
